Chandana R. Rao is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice. Ms. Rao focuses her practice on advising and representing technology companies, primarily in the life sciences and information technology industries.

A significant aspect of her practice consists of the representation of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in a variety of transactions, including the negotiation and structuring of strategic alliances and other collaborations, licensing transactions, supply and distribution arrangements, co-promotion arrangements, and joint ventures, ranging from early-stage research collaborations to global alliances to develop and commercialize products. Her practice also includes the negotiation and structuring of technology agreements and transactions, electronic commerce issues, Internet and applications service providers, and asset purchase agreements. 

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Rao worked as an intellectual property associate in the New York office of a large international law firm, where she focused on all aspects of intellectual property and cross-border transactions. 

Ms. Rao earned her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, Newark in 2002 where she was the business editor of the Rutgers Law Review. Ms. Rao earned her M.S. in cell and developmental biology in 1998 and her B.A. in biology in 1995 from Rutgers University.

Ms. Rao is admitted to practice in New York only and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
