Christopher Hitchins is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labour and Employment Practice and is the practice group leader for the Labour and Employment Practice in London. Chris's practice focuses on employment law, benefits, and transactional pensions matters.

Chris advises on all areas of contentious and noncontentious employment law, in particular with a cross-border element or in the context of an M&A transaction or outsourcing. His areas of expertise include executive hiring and retention (including designing management incentivisation plans); managing employment disputes and grievances; negotiating dismissals and compromise agreements; office/plant closures and other layoffs; Employment Tribunal and High Court litigation matters; enforcement of restrictive covenants; advising on discrimination issues; and data privacy.

In addition, Chris advises on transactional and restructuring pensions issues, in particular the impact of the moral hazard provisions, the role of the Pensions Regulator, negotiating with trustees, running clearance applications, and advising on liability management exercises.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Chris was counsel in the Employment, Benefits, and Compensation Practice of a large international law firm.

Chris received his LPC from the College of Law of England and Wales, Chester in 1996 and his BA in law from the University of Sheffield, England in 1995.

Chris is admitted to practice in England and Wales as a Solicitor.
