Dorothy J. Black is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Ms. Black’s practice focuses on trade, customs and export control matters.
Ms. Black joined Morgan Lewis in 1994, after an extensive foreign service career. Her assignments included positions as economic officer in the American Embassies in Lagos, Nigeria, and Bonn, Germany; economic officer at the American Embassy in Athens, Greece; legislative assistant in the State Department Congressional Exchange Program; management analyst at the Office of Management Operations, U.S. Department of State; economic and commercial affairs counselor at the American Embassy in Colombo, Sri Lanka; and counselor for economic affairs at the American Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica. She also worked as an economic consultant at the U.S. Agency for International Development in Jamaica, and a legal intern for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.
Ms. Black received her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to attending law school, she studied economics at Princeton University and pursued an in-depth foreign service career. Ms. Black received her M.A. from The Johns Hopkins University, and her B.A. from Stanford University.
Ms. Black is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and California.
