Mark Hale is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Tax Practice. Mark focuses his practice on U.S. federal tax planning and controversy. His practice focuses on international transactions, most often for U.S. enterprises and individuals undertaking activities abroad, or for foreign enterprises and individuals undertaking activities in the United States.

Mark has experience in advising on and documenting international tax planning for companies, financial institutions and individuals, including tax-efficient structures using tax treaties and trusts, cross-border corporate restructurings, and tax reporting obligations. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mark was an attorney at an international law firm.

Mark received his LL.M., with a concentration in taxation, from New York University School of Law in 2006, where he was a graduate editor of the NYU Journal of International Law and Politics. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004, where he was named to the Dean's List. While in law school, Mark was recognized as a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics and awarded the prestigious John M. Olin Prize for Outstanding Written Work in Law and Economics.
