Miles Roeder is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Roeder focuses his practice on immigration and nationality law, with particular emphasis on employment-based matters. He represents startup and multinational clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Department of Labor, and the Department of State in securing nonimmigrant visas and permanent residence for their employees. Mr. Roeder also has experience preparing employment-based petitions for foreign workers in the outstanding researcher and extraordinary ability categories.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Roeder was an associate in the San Francisco office of a large law firm with a nationally recognized practice in business immigration, where he counseled several well-known Silicon Valley startup companies on the hiring and retention of highly skilled foreign workers. He also advised high-tech companies on reductions in force as related to foreign workers and revisions of corporate immigration policies and practices in light of the changed business realities of the economic downturn. Prior to that, he was an associate with a boutique immigration practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Mr. Roeder received his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1996. Prior to attending law school, he was an English teacher in Madrid, Spain and in Boston. Mr. Roeder earned his B.A., cum laude, in politics, with a minor in Spanish language and literature, from Brandeis University in 1991.

Mr. Roeder is admitted to practice in Massachusetts only.
