Jacquelyn A. Caridad is of counsel in Morgan Lewis's eData Practice. Ms. Caridad's practice focuses on assisting clients and firm attorneys in implementing strategies for successfully managing large-scale litigation matters involving electronic discovery, and providing prelitigation counseling to clients regarding information management and discovery-readiness solutions. eData is an innovative practice group founded by Morgan Lewis to address the impact of electronic data on business and legal strategies.
In her work, Ms. Caridad collaborates closely with firm litigators, IT teams, and clients to provide innovative solutions for preserving potentially vital information, developing strategies for collecting hard copy and electronic materials from different locations, establishing a document-review process, and assessing options for document production. Using eData’s industry-leading “best practices” guide to meet eDiscovery obligations in ways that minimize cost and maximize quality, she provides start-to-finish litigation management, from litigation holds and data preservation, to negotiations with opposing counsel, to discovery motion practice, depositions, and trial support. In addition to providing eDiscovery litigation assistance, Ms. Caridad helps clients meet increasingly demanding regulatory and legal requirements by providing cost-effective prelitigation risk management, including eDiscovery-readiness consulting, and information management and retention counseling.
Ms. Caridad’s litigation practice focuses on a broad range of state and federal civil litigation matters, with a particular emphasis on business and corporate disputes, construction litigation, product liability and toxic tort litigation, and insurance coverage litigation. In addition to her extensive civil litigation experience, Ms. Caridad’s practice has also included counseling clients in contract drafting, negotiating insurance claims, and resolving insurance coverage matters.
Through her practice, Ms. Caridad has represented clients in a broad range of industries including the manufacturing, industrial products, retail, bio-medical, pharmaceutical, media distribution, healthcare, investment, and cable industries, as well as nonprofit educational organizations.
During her career, Ms. Caridad has represented several clients on a pro bono basis through Philadelphia’s Volunteers for the Indigent Program, and the Support Center for Child Advocates. She also coached the Swarthmore College Mock Trial Team from 1999 to 2001.
Ms. Caridad earned her J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law in 1997. While at Tulane, she was a student attorney for the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic and a board member of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law. She received her B.A. in communications, with high distinction, from Pennsylvania State University in 1993.
Ms. Caridad is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
