Brian L. Johnsrud is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. He litigates and arbitrates employment law matters on behalf of technology, financial services and transportation companies. He also develops litigation avoidance and risk management strategies in high-risk employment disputes and counsels employers on their rights and obligations under state and federal law.
Recent Employment Litigation Experience:
- Obtained denial of collective and class certification in wage and hour class action challenging exempt status of employees (Eastern District of California 2008)
- Obtained summary judgment in Labor Code Section 970, fraud, and breach of contract case. (Northern District of California 2006)
- Successful prosecution of trade secrets preliminary injunction against former employee and new employer. (Orange County Superior Court 2006)
- Successful defense of trade secrets preliminary injunction sought by clients' former employer. (San Francisco Superior Court 2006)
- Obtained dismissal of defamation, FMLA/CFRA, and breach of contract claims. (Northern District of California 2006)
