Lauren S. Kim is a senior attorney in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Kim currently represents several Fortune 500 and public companies, including leading financial institutions and national restaurant and retail chains, in wage and hour class actions involving meal and rest break claims, overtime claims, off-the-clock claims, vacation pay claims, wage statement claims, seating claims, misclassification, expense reimbursement issues, and PAGA claims.

Ms. Kim has successfully handled trials, arbitrations and mediations for diverse clients. She also has experience defending employers against claims involving harassment and/or discrimination based on age, disability, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and race, as well as claims regarding wrongful termination and retaliation, violations of noncompetition agreements and other restrictive covenants, trade secrets, unfair competition, and various Labor Code violations. Ms. Kim also counsels clients on a variety of day-to-day employment issues including terminations, reductions in force, severance issues, employee classification, restrictive covenants, independent contractor issues, and various leave issues.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Kim was a litigation attorney at a large international law firm, where she also represented several Fortune 500 and public companies focusing on employment matters. She also has appellate experience, having worked on a successful U.S. Supreme Court case from the petition for a writ of certiorari to preparations for the hearing in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Kim earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1999, where she was an editor for the Cornell Law Review, and completed her third year of law school at Columbia Law School. She earned her B.A., with honors, from Stanford University in 1995. While at Stanford, Ms. Kim also studied jurisprudence and international relations at Oxford University in 1994.

Ms. Kim is admitted to practice in California and New York and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California.
