Clayton A. Morton is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Morton focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation. He has represented local, national, and international clients in a variety of business disputes in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities, oil and gas, antitrust, business torts, and banking. Mr. Morton has also represented plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of class actions.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Morton was an associate at a full-service international law firm. Before that, he served as a briefing attorney for Justice Jane Bland of the Texas First Court of Appeals in Houston.
Mr. Morton received his J.D., summa cum laude, from South Texas College of Law in 2006, where he served as an articles editor for the South Texas Law Review, and was inducted into the Order of the Lytae and Phi Delta Phi. He received his B.S. in economics from Texas A&M University in 2002.
Mr. Morton is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

- Served as co-lead counsel in a nationwide class action lawsuit involving section 457 retirement plans.
- Obtained a dismissal in a shareholder action challenging the fairness of a $22 billion merger.
- Represented a manufacturing company in asserting claims for predatory pricing and business disparagement against a competitor.
- Defended a sports league in an antitrust lawsuit filed by one of its franchisees.
- Assisted in an expedited trial in Federal Bankruptcy Court involving a dispute over a "market-MAC" clause.
