Lauren Schmidt Murdza is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Business and Finance Practice. Ms. Murdza represents clients in the life sciences, healthcare, and technology industries. She also represents pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and consumer product companies, both private and public, in their technology-based transactions ranging from asset purchase agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements, joint venture agreements, development and collaboration agreements, clinical trial agreements, and licensing agreements. Ms. Murdza has also represented clients in mergers, acquisitions, financings, and divestitures.
Ms. Murdza is the current treasurer of the Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court for Intellectual Property Law and is an active member in the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Murdza was an associate at a premier boutique intellectual property law firm, where she practiced all areas of intellectual property law.
Ms. Murdza received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 2006 where she was a staff writer for the Villanova Sports and Entertainment Law Journal. While in law school, Ms. Murdza served as a judicial extern for Judge Charles Weiner of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and interned for a pharmaceutical services organization assisting with contract negotiations and intellectual property procurement and litigation. She received her B.S. in biology from Loyola College in Maryland in 2003, where she was accepted into the TriBeta National Biological Honors Society, and interned in the legal department of a pharmaceutical company.
Ms. Murdza is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
