Vito Petretti is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Global Outsourcing, Technology, and Commercial Transactions Practice. Mr. Petretti's practice focuses on technology and outsourcing matters. As part of his practice, Mr. Petretti regularly drafts and negotiates an array of domestic and international outsourcing service agreements for a variety of business processes, such as information technology, finance and accounting, human resources, and procurement. He also drafts and negotiates a variety of information technology agreements such as software licensing agreements, hardware purchase and lease agreements, data licensing and subscription agreements, website hosting and development agreements, e-commerce agreements, and other technology-related agreements, including system implementation, joint venture, and strategic alliance agreements and a broad range of commercial agreements such as supply and distribution agreements, manufacturing agreements, consulting and service agreements, marketing and advertising agreements, confidentiality agreements and other documents and agreements in support of sourcing and supply chain operations.

Mr. Petretti earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law in 1999, where he was named to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, he was a member of the Villanova Law Review, serving as associate editor from 1997 to 1998 and managing editor from 1998 to 1999. While there he authored "Matthew Bender & Co. v. West Publishing Co.: The End of West's Publishing Empire?" in the Villanova Law Review. He received his M.A. in social science from Montclair State University in 1996 and his B.A. in history from Rutgers University in 1994.

Other articles Mr. Petretti has written or co-authored include "New Federal Laws Expanding Online Privacy Protection," appearing in the September 2000 issue of Cable TV and News Media; "Records Retention: What Banks Don't Know Can and Likely Will Hurt," appearing in the April 2002 issue of The Banking Law Journal; a section of the American Bar Association's Annual Review of Developments in Business and Corporate Litigation regarding recent developments in the Third Circuit; “The Effect of SOX on FAO: What the Outsourcing Contract Needs to Say,” appearing in the March 2007 issue of FAO Today; and “Ensuring Savings in a Human Resource Outsourcing Agreement,” appearing in the March 2009 issue of Human Resource Executive.

Mr. Petretti is admitted to practice in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
