Timothy G. Ackermann is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Ackermann focuses his practice on the litigation of intellectual property disputes, including patents, trademarks and copyrights, as well as validity opinions. His litigation background encompasses many technical areas, including polymer processing, waste disposal, medical and dental devices, electronic gasoline dispensers and design patents.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Ackermann worked extensively in the U.S. federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Ackermann earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law in 1997. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Ackermann served as a naval officer on a West Coast- and Japan-based frigate, the U.S.S. THACH (FFG-43). He earned his B.S.M.E. in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
Mr. Ackermann is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Western and Southern Districts of Texas.
