Eric Kraeutler is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Corporate Investigations and White Collar Practices. His practice focuses on trials and appeals involving intellectual property, complex commercial, and white collar criminal matters. Mr. Kraeutler has been the lead trial lawyer in civil and criminal jury trials, civil bench trials, and arbitrations, including international arbitrations. He also has significant appellate experience, having argued cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Ninth, and Federal Circuits, as well as state appellate courts. For more than 10 years, Mr. Kraeutler's civil litigation practice has focused on intellectual property disputes. He has handled patent, trademark, and trade secret cases in courts throughout the United States. In addition, Mr. Kraeutler has broad experience in government investigations and white collar criminal defense. He has handled matters involving environmental crimes, theft of trade secrets, mail and wire fraud, government contract fraud (including Medicare and Medicaid fraud), the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and alleged illegal trade with Cuba and other embargoed countries. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Kraeutler regularly counsels clients regarding corporate compliance and risk management issues.

Mr. Kraeutler is active in various professional associations, including the Intellectual Property Owners Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Intellectual Property Law Section of the American Bar Association. He has been a featured speaker at various conferences on topics including intellectual property trial techniques, proof of willful patent infringement, litigating patent injunctions, conducting internal investigations, and the Economic Espionage Act. Mr. Kraeutler is listed in the 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer, and is profiled in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in American Law. In the 2007 edition of The Legal 500, Mr. Kraeutler was recognized by corporate counsel as one of the leading lawyers in the United States in the field of patent litigation.

Mr. Kraeutler has served for many years as Morgan Lewis's firmwide hiring partner. As such, he oversees the attorney recruiting operations for all of the firm's domestic offices. Mr. Kraeutler also is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Steering Committee, Legal Personnel Committee, and Diversity Committee.

Active in community affairs, Mr. Kraeutler is an executive committee member of the Committee of Seventy, the Philadelphia region's preeminent political watchdog organization; a board member of the Chester School of the Arts; the former chairman of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Delaware Valley Chapter; and the chair of the Swarthmore Zoning Hearing Board.

Mr. Kraeutler began his association with Morgan Lewis in 1980 and rejoined the firm in 1987, after spending three years as a federal prosecutor. Between 1984 and 1987, Mr. Kraeutler served in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he concentrated in the investigation and prosecution of complex business crimes. In the 1990s, as a Special Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Kraeutler oversaw the indictment of Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Rolf Larsen and testified at the historic impeachment trial of Justice Larsen before the Pennsylvania Senate.

Mr. Kraeutler is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
