Gregory C. Ellis, Ph.D., is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Intellectual Property Practice. Dr. Ellis focuses his practice primarily on patent prosecution, strategic counseling, and opinion work in the area of biotechnology.

Dr. Ellis earned his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 2008, where he was an associate editor-in-chief of the Pacific Rim Law and Policy Journal. Prior to attending law school, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, where he took a biochemical approach into understanding how viral mechanisms lead to cancer. Dr. Ellis earned his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon, Institute of Molecular Biology in 2002, where he used molecular genetics to research cytoskeletal mechanisms of cell division. He has authored peer-reviewed articles in the disciplines of both science and law. Dr. Ellis earned his B.S. from Michigan State University in 1995.

Dr. Ellis is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
