Anne Marie Estevez is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Estevez's practice focuses on the defense and trial of complex employment and accessibility (ADA) cases in federal and state courts, as well as on advising, training, and counseling companies on state and federal employment and accessibility laws. She is fluent in Spanish.
Ms. Estevez is board certified in labor and employment law. She represents a broad range of state, national, and international clients in the full spectrum of employment and discrimination related matters, including trade secret and noncompete claims; class and collective actions; EEOC, DOJ, and other agency charges; lawsuits involving race, national origin, sex, same-sex, age, marital status, religious, pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, and disability discrimination; ADA Title III or comparable state law accessibility issues; Whistleblower claims; Fair Labor Standards Act claims; expense reimbursement claims; meal and rest period claims; equal pay claims; unemployment compensation; workers' compensation; wrongful termination; and other tort, contract, and equitable claims.
Ms. Estevez has drafted and negotiated several executive employment agreements, including in large mergers and acquisitions, drafted manuals and policies for companies, and trained hundreds of executives and employees nationwide. She has advised on class action avoidance programs, handled class and collective actions and mediations, and negotiated settlements. Ms. Estevez has also created, supervised, and provided advice to clients in their implementation of corporate-wide diversity initiatives.
Ms. Estevez also has provided advice on ADA Title III and comparable state accessibility laws, defended numerous accessibility cases, provided consulting work, and negotiated favorable settlements in accessibility matters involving large retailers, restaurant chains, franchisees, gas stations, shopping malls, sports-related organizations, and owners, partners, operators, lessors and lessees of public accommodations.
From 2006 through 2011, Ms. Estevez has been named one of the leading U.S. lawyers for employment law by Chambers USA, based on the views of clients, peers, and other industry professionals. Chambers reported that Ms. Estevez's clients call her "a real fighter, she always bats her hardest and always with your interests in mind." Chambers also noted that she is seen as a "trusted resource for opinions." In 2006, Ms. Estevez was named as a finalist for the 2006 Hispanic Woman of the Year Award.
