Adriana M. Martinez is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Ms. Martinez focuses her practice on state and federal complex commercial litigation matters. She also has handled numerous complex corporate internal investigations involving financial fraud, accounting, and international regulatory matters.
Ms. Martinez's commercial litigation practice has focused on the representations of plaintiffs and defendants in litigation and arbitration related to a broad range of substantive areas, including contract disputes, professional malpractice, and insurance recovery. Ms. Martinez also has assisted clients in conducting internal practice reviews and investigations. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies involved in the chemical, manufacturing, industrial, banking, and financial services sectors. Recently, she worked on a lengthy arbitration before the Society of Maritime Arbitrators involving a shipbuilding dispute between a Japanese trading company affiliate and a major U.S. defense contractor.
Ms. Martinez also has represented clients in complex internal investigations regarding compliance with U.S. and international laws, focused in particular in Latin America. Ms. Martinez regularly conducts investigative interviews in English and Spanish, and oversees large scale foreign language document reviews. In addition to conducting investigations, Ms. Martinez has worked with clients to develop and implement remedial steps based on investigative finds and she has defended clients before numerous U.S. regulatory agencies including the NASD and the SEC.
Ms. Martinez received her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 2004, where she was recognized as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 2001. Ms. Martinez is fluent in Spanish and English.
