Fiona Mcguinness is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Business and Finance Practice. Fiona represents public and private companies on a variety of domestic and international acquisitions, cross-border joint ventures, and equity offerings and has a particular focus on private equity and venture capital transactions. Her practice also includes advising companies on general corporate matters.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Fiona advised several major corporations on acquisitions, including advising a major U.S. insurance company on the £1billion acquisition of an investment fund management business; advising a Dutch conglomerate on the acquisition of a number of UK construction companies, as well as advising on the refinancing of the UK group's banking arrangements; advising a large listed UK property company on its joint venture arrangements for the development of the Broadgate Centre, London; advising private equity and venture capital trusts on their investment portfolio and investment strategy; advising the management team of a multimedia company with respect to the investment by strategic partners and private equity funds; advising a major UK supermarket on the divestment of its development portfolio; advising a private equity fund on its investment in a chain of high street ladies' clothing stores; advising on the listing and fundraising of public companies on AIM and the Official List; and advising both management and private equity funds on the sale of a provider of store card services to a major credit card company.
Fiona earned her LSF from the College of Law of England and Wales, Guildford in 1991 and her LLB (Hons) from Queen's University, Belfast in 1989.
Fiona is admitted to practice in England and Wales as a Solicitor.
