Paul K. Haines is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Haines represents employers in single plaintiff and class action litigation in both state and federal courts, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings. His class action practice primarily focuses on defending employers against wage and hour claims, including allegations of employee misclassification, off-the-clock work, and meal and rest period violations.
With respect to single plaintiff and multi-plaintiff actions, Mr. Haines has experience defending against claims of discrimination, harassment, family and medical leave, wrongful termination, and retaliation brought under state and federal law. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Haines advises employers on compliance with state and federal employment law.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Haines was an associate in the Los Angeles office of an international employment law firm.
Mr. Haines received his J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2006, where he held an externship with Judge Edward Rafeedie of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He received his B.S. in business management from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2003.
Mr. Haines is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Central, and Southern Districts of California.
