Michael J. Macaluso is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice. Mr. Macaluso focuses his practice on structured financings, including domestic and cross-border asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities, conduits, securitization, synthetic securities, and various hedging instruments. He has broad experience managing complex financial and corporate finance transactions as well as acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, and venture finance with a particular emphasis on the financial services sector. Mr. Macaluso also frequently handles cross-border matters with respect to Europe and Latin America.
Mr. Macaluso serves his clients in a number of capacities, such as treasury counsel and as outside general counsel primarily for large financial institutions and hedge funds.
Mr. Macaluso is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Minnesota Law School and is fluent in German.
Mr. Macaluso received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1988; his M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1988; and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Lehigh University in 1983.
