Dino T. Barajas is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice. Mr. Barajas focuses his practice on domestic and international project development and finance, with particular emphasis on Latin American infrastructure projects. He regularly represents lenders, investors, and developers in a wide range of domestic and international project financings in the energy, power, infrastructure, and commercial sectors, as well as in traditional banking, structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, asset finance, joint ventures, and venture capital transaction. His clients include commercial lenders, institutional investors, investment funds, project sponsors, and public and private companies. Mr. Barajas has worked on transactions in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guam, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, the United States, Yemen, and elsewhere.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Barajas was the co-head of the Latin American Projects Group and a partner in the corporate department at an international law firm. While there, he was the lead attorney on multiple transactions that earned deal-of-the-year honors from Project Finance Magazine. He was also recognized by California Lawyer Magazine as “Attorney of the Year (Energy)” in 2004.

Mr. Barajas received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1993 and his B.A., summa cum laude, in communication studies and the business emphasis program from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1990. He was awarded the “Outstanding Graduating Senior Award” and the “Distinguished Scholar Award” and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. Mr. Barajas is fluent in Spanish.

Mr. Barajas was recognized in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2006–2008) as a “Leader in the Field of Project Finance” and is one of only three California lawyers listed in The International Who’s Who of Project Finance Lawyers, 2005 (3rd Edition) and 2007 (4th Edition). Additionally, he was recognized by Law & Politics in 2006 and 2007 as a “Super Lawyer” (top 5% of lawyers) for lending and energy work in Southern California. Mr. Barajas also frequently speaks at various project finance, Latin American infrastructure development, and Mexican power conferences.
