Kenneth J. Turnbull is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment practice.
Mr. Turnbull has litigated a number of high-profile and complex cases involving a wide range of issues. He routinely represents clients before state and federal courts in cases of discrimination and wrongful discharge, defends against claims for bonus and other compensation before various arbitration panels, litigates claims involving restrictive covenants and trade secrets and defends against claims arising out of corporate planning and restructuring. He also represents employer's before the Department of Labor on Sarbanes-Oxley and wage and hour issues. Mr. Turnbull has also worked extensively in traditional labor matters. He represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board in collective bargaining, union representation elections, labor arbitrations and unfair labor practice charges, and has assisted employers seeking to reject their collective bargaining agreements pursuant to Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. In addition, Mr. Turnbull advises and counsels clients on important strategic business issues, including the enforcement of restrictive covenants, reductions in force, executive retention, diversity initiatives and compensation plans.
From 2005 through 2008, Mr. Turnbull was named one of the leading U.S. lawyers for employment law by Chambers USA, based on the views of clients, peers and other industry professionals. Chambers praised Mr. Turnbull's "ability to handle complex cases in the sophisticated financial services world."
Mr. Turnbull is the co-chair of Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment International Subpractice Group.
Mr. Turnbull previously interned for Judge Maryanne Trump Barry of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Additionally, he was Order of the Coif at Rutgers University where he received his J.D., with honors, in 1991. While in law school, he served as editor of the Rutgers Law Review. He earned his B.S. from Lehigh University in 1986.
