Jeffrey S. Raskin is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Raskin focuses his practice on insurance recovery and has represented policyholders in the medical products, consumer products, agricultural products, construction, contracting, energy, entertainment, and paint industries. He also has litigated commercial disputes on behalf of high-technology companies and owners of real property.

Mr. Raskin recently tried two insurance coverage cases involving disputed choice of law questions concerning coverage for his client's multistate asbestos liabilities. Both trials resulted in favorable rulings for the clients on all issues tried, thus affirming their rights to substantial historical insurance coverage. Mr. Raskin also recently obtained appellate affirmance of a trial court's ruling that an insurer was required to provide a complete defense under its policy, even though only some of the many allegations against his client were potentially covered under the policy. The trial court's ruling resulted in the client's settlement of a costly lawsuit in New York. Previously, Mr. Raskin litigated an insurance coverage lawsuit that affirmed substantial coverage for his client's breast implant liabilities, as well as an action establishing that the client's payment of a class action settlement before seeking insurance coverage was not a prohibited "voluntary" payment or a settlement paid without the insurance company's consent.

Mr. Raskin has published articles on a variety of topics, including the application of insurance policy limits to asbestos "operations" and asbestos "products" claims; the number of "occurrences" under liability insurance policies; the recovery of pretender expense in insurance coverage litigation; the prosecution of insurance coverage actions against umbrella and excess insurance companies; the use of antisuit injunctions in multistate, multiparty insurance coverage actions; and the discovery of electronic mail messages in civil litigation.

Mr. Raskin is admitted to practice in California.
