Rita Srivastava is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Srivastava represents and counsels employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, with a particular emphasis on employment litigation and traditional labor matters. Her litigation experience includes individual and class action litigation arising under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and other federal, state, and local employment laws. She represents employers before administrative agencies and in arbitrations at JAMS, the AAA, and FINRA, as well as in state and federal court.

Ms. Srivastava also counsels employers on litigation avoidance, union avoidance, personnel policies and procedures, employee handbooks, executive employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, severance agreements, restrictive covenants, hiring, disciplining, and discharging.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Srivastava was an associate in the Labor and Employment Practice of a leading international law firm.

Ms. Srivastava received her J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law in 2007. While in law school, she served as note and comment editor for the Journal of International Law and Business and as a team leader for International Team Project–Chile, and was active in several student organizations. She received her B.A., cum laude, in English language and literature from the University of Michigan in 2003.

Ms. Srivastava is admitted to practice in Illinois and New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and the Southern District of New York.
