Roger K. Smith is of counsel in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Dr. Smith focuses his practice on litigating complex commercial and insurance disputes and defending product liability and toxic tort matters. He has represented clients before the California Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit, and other state and federal courts in the representation of mass tort litigations, class actions, and other complex litigation matters. See, e.g., Norris v. Baxter Healthcare Corp., 397 F.3d 878 (10th Cir. 2005).

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Dr. Smith was counsel in the Los Angeles office of a large international law firm. Before practicing law, Dr. Smith was a research fellow at Harvard University's Center for International Affairs, executive director of the Aspen Strategy Group, and an adjunct professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Smith is a member of the American Bar Association and serves as co-editor of the ABA's Class Action and Derivate Suits newsletter.

Dr. Smith is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California.
