Robert J. Goodell, Ph.D., is a senior patent agent in Morgan Lewis’s Intellectual Property Practice. Dr. Goodell’s practice focuses on patent prosecution in the electrical and mechanical arts.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis in 1995, Dr. Goodell was a research assistant performing molecular spectroscopy at the Institute for Physical Science and Technology, University of Maryland. His background includes physics, chemistry, and electrical engineering, and his technical areas of experience include electronic/optical systems, electrodynamics, and solid state physics.

Dr. Goodell received his Ph.D. in physics in 1994 and his M.S. in physics in 1990 from the University of Maryland, where he was an Iskraut Foundation Fellow (1987–1988). He received his B.S., magna cum laude, in physics from Georgetown University in 1987 and was awarded the Kidwell Medal for Physics.

Dr. Goodell is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
