Yermek A. Umurzakova

Yermek A. Umurzakova is of counsel in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice. Ms. Umurzakova has more than 15 years of experience practicing law in Kazakhstan. She advises primarily on mergers and acquisitions, finance, and contract/commercial law, with a background in banking, real estate, investment, and manufacturing law.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Umurzakova was a senior associate at another international law firm, resident in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Before that, she managed a legal group noted for its banking law practice, and she served as senior counsel at JSC Agro-Invest, a major grain holding company. Ms. Umurzakova also taught international private law at the State Judicial Institute for five years.

Ms. Umurzakova graduated with honors from Al Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakhstan in 1994. She speaks English, Russian and Kazakh.

Ms. Umurzakova is eligible to practice in Kazakhstan.
