James C. Spencer

Associate

James C. Spencer is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Spencer represents clients in a wide array of civil litigation matters, including commercial, energy, administrative, constitutional, and appellate litigation.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Spencer was an associate in the Houston office of an international law firm. He has also worked for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Environmental Protection Agency, and an oil and gas services corporation in Singapore. Mr. Spencer served on the staff of Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick during the 2007 legislative session, where he focused on energy, environmental, and transportation policy.

Mr. Spencer received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law in 2008, where he was an associate editor of the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas & Energy Law and the Texas Review of Law & Politics. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University in 2004.

Mr. Spencer is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth, and Tenth Circuits, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
