Preetam A. Shingavi is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation and Intellectual Property Practices. He practices primarily in the area of intellectual property litigation. In the Eastern District of Texas, Mr. Shingavi has represented clients in a number of patent infringement lawsuits involving technologies ranging from computer hardware such as printers, laptops, and servers, to software technology such as encryption, to industry standards such as 802.11 and 802.15.

Mr. Shingavi also has experience litigating patent infringement before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), where he defended a large television manufacturer from claims of patent infringement based on an industry standard, and in the Central District of California, where he defended a video game developer against a rival developer. Mr. Shingavi has also represented clients in antitrust issues, common law tort claims, copyright matters, and securities claims in various jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Shingavi was an associate at an international law firm, where he defended a large memory manufacturer in a state court antitrust litigation, a television manufacturer in an ITC patent infringement action, and an online website in a federal copyright litigation.

Mr. Shingavi received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2006, where he was named to the Order of the Coif. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Shingavi was a senior software engineer with Austin Info Systems. He received his B.S. in computer science, B.A. in government, and B.A. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000.

Mr. Shingavi is admitted to practice in Texas and California.
