Michel Y. Horton is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice, concentrating on policyholder insurance recovery counseling and litigation. Mr. Horton has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies in a variety of complex litigation matters, including coverage disputes involving toxic torts, environmental property damage and personal injury, medical devices, product recall, and financial losses. He also assists clients in drafting specialty market insurance policies, particularly in connection with future environmental and toxic tort exposures, through domestic insurers and offshore captives.

Mr. Horton has tried bench and jury trials in state and federal courts throughout the country, including in California, Delaware, Illinois and Iowa, and has served as lead counsel on insurance-related litigation for, among others, Wal-Mart Stores, ConocoPhillips, ITT Industries, El Paso Corporation, The Tribune Company, UNR Industries, Fuller-Austin, and J.T. Thorpe. He also has experience handling product liability defense and commercial litigation matters, including class actions.

Mr. Horton has been listed in Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA and has been designated a California "Super Lawyer" for the past several years. He frequently writes and speaks on insurance coverage related issues in a variety of forums.

Mr. Horton is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia.
