Courtney Wirth Griffin is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Griffin represents employers in single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, and complex collective and class action litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. She has litigated wage and hour class and collective actions as well as complex and single-plaintiff discrimination and harassment cases (including gender, race, age, and disability discrimination and harassment). She also provides clients with day-to-day advice on a wide range of labor and employment-related issues.
Ms. Griffin also focuses her practice on counseling and litigation matters arising under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. This has included providing advice to employers regarding safety and health plans and OSHA compliance, representing employers during on-site OSHA investigations, and handling OSHA litigation matters for employers in a variety of industries including construction, refining, manufacturing, steel, trucking and retail. She also provides counseling and litigation support for alleged whistleblower claims by employees under § 11(c) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Ms. Griffin earned her J.D., with high honors, from Rutgers University School of Law, Camden in 2006, where she served as lead state constitutional law editor on the Rutgers Law Journal and was published therein. Also, she served as a teaching assistant for two years in the Legal Research and Writing Department. Ms. Griffin earned her B.A. in political science and communications from the University of North Carolina in 2003.
Ms. Griffin is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey.
