David V. Sanker is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Intellectual Property Practice. Attorneys in this practice offer a full range of counseling, prosecution, licensing, and litigation services to U.S. and foreign enterprises in a variety of industries. We counsel clients on patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret protection issues, as well as matters arising from franchising, advertising, the Internet and e-commerce, outsourcing, and managed services. Dr. Sanker focuses his practice on patent litigation.

Dr. Sanker earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law in 2007, where he was an article editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. While in law school, Dr. Sanker worked as an extern for Judge Saundra B. Armstrong of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. As a summer associate at Morgan Lewis, he assisted in trial preparation for a successful patent suit before the International Trade Commission.

Prior to attending law school, Dr. Sanker worked in software development for 12 years and spent three years as an assistant professor of mathematics at Holy Names College. Dr. Sanker earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1989 and his B.S. in mathematics from the University of Oregon in 1983.

Dr. Sanker is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
