David Jackson is of counsel in Morgan Lewis’s Global Outsourcing Practice. Mr. Jackson’s practice focuses on complex multinational business process and IT outsourcing transactions. He has represented large insurance and banking institutions, among others, in such transactions. His experience in the comprehensive outsourcing process includes advising and assisting clients with the multiple stages involved, including creating and processing requests for information and requests for proposal, as well as leading multiple-vendor term sheet negotiations. He has also advised on the renegotiation of existing complex outsourcing agreements.
In recent years, Mr. Jackson has negotiated outsourcing and service agreements for myriad services, including mainframe, mid-range, desktop, help desk, telecom services, application development, call center, claims processing, order processing, and co-location.
Mr. Jackson was formerly an associate general counsel for AIG Technologies, Inc., where he supported the structuring, negotiating and drafting of outsourcing transactions, representing AIG Technologies as a service provider. He also has extensive experience in the outside counsel role, having been associated with another prominent firm's technology and outsourcing practice and with a leading Boston firm, where he was an associate in their intellectual property counseling and transactions group.
In addition to his experience in outsourcing transactions, Mr. Jackson’s practice includes negotiating complex software and technology licensing, development and distribution agreements; electronic banking, e-commerce and other Internet-related agreements; and technology acquisition and consulting agreements. Prior to his legal career, he performed accounting and financial work for various organizations.
Mr. Jackson earned his J.D. from New York Law School and his B.A. from Birmingham-Southern College.
