Vladimir Shuster is an international partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice. Mr. Shuster advises on international/cross-border M&A transactions across various industries, including oil and gas, and metals and mining. His clients include Western multinationals, Asian state companies, and local Kazakhstan companies.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Shuster was an associate in the corporate practice of another international law firm, resident in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Mr. Shuster earned his J.D. from New York Law School in 2001 and his B.A. from Hofstra University in 1997. He speaks English, Russian, and Spanish.

Mr. Shuster is admitted to practice in New York (U.S.) and New Jersey (U.S.) and is eligible to practice in Kazakhstan.

Advised a Kazakhstan-focused private equity fund in connection with its investments in the Kazakhstan retail sector.

Advised an international private equity fund in connection with its investment in a major producer of construction materials that holds subsoil use rights in Kazakhstan.

Represented a Kazakhstan investment group in connection with the sale of its interest in one of Kyrgyzstan's largest gold deposits to a Chinese gold mining company.

Represented a Hong Kong investment group in the acquisition of a Kazakhstan oil and gas company that holds exploration rights in Western Kazakhstan.

Advised a large Kazakhstan group in connection with its bid for LPG assets located in Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania.

Advised a leading European aerospace and satellite technology firm in its joint venture with the Kazakhstan national space company.

Advised a leading French nuclear energy company in connection with corporate and other Kazakhstan law matters related to its operations in Kazakhstan.

Represented a leading multinational conglomerate in connection with a joint venture with Kazakhstan's national railway operator for the manufacture of locomotives in Kazakhstan. Successfully represented the same company in a breakthrough locomotive maintenance agreement with a subsidiary of Kazakhstan's national railway operator.

Advised creditors (the world's leading banks) in connection the restructuring of Kazakhstan's largest banks.

Represented a Kazakhstan based real estate development group in connection with a luxury hotel and condominium project.

Represented Kazakhstan's premier luxury brands group in connection with the development and management of a high end U.S. department store in Almaty.
