Michael J. Riffitts

Michael Riffitts is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Riffitts' practice is focused on product liability and toxic tort defense. He is a member of a team of attorneys that represents major pharmaceutical companies in mass tort litigation. 

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Riffitts worked in the Drug Safety Department of Aventis Pharmaceuticals for seven years. As the Global Safety Officer for Aventis's cardiovascular drugs, he was responsible for assessing adverse drug experiences from clinical trials and post-marketing surveillance reporting systems. In this capacity, he assessed safety data for clinical and regulatory issues, initiated drug labeling changes relating to patient safety and responded to safety queries from regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Prior to pursuing his career in law, Mr. Riffitts was a retail pharmacist, hospital pharmacist, and nursing home consultant.

Mr. Riffitts earned his J.D., with high honors, from Rutgers School of Law, Newark, in 2004. While in law school, he was awarded the Saul Tischler scholarship, which is awarded to the evening student with the highest GPA.

Mr. Riffitts is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
