John F. Schultz is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Schultz's practice focuses on products liability, consumer class-actions and commercial litigation, especially in the technology and pharmaceutical fields. He has represented numerous companies in the pharmaceutical industry, including a Fortune 50 pharmaceutical company involved in more than 100 tort lawsuits arising out of the use of a prescription medication, and a large medical device manufacturer in various product liability actions relating to its products. In the computer industry, Mr. Schultz represents a Fortune 50 California-based computer manufacturer in national consumer class-action lawsuits pending around the country. He successfully represented a national health insurer in a lawsuit against a large California software developer relating to a failed IT implementation project.

Mr. Schultz also handles fiduciary liability and ERISA cases for public companies, health issuers, hospitals, universities and non-profit organizations and foundations. He has represented the former plan administrator of a large, regional health system in several class-action breach of fiduciary lawsuits arising out of the plan sponsors bankruptcy, as well as a prominent health insurer in a breach of fiduciary duty class-action lawsuit arising from changes to retiree health benefits. He also represented a large Maryland university in various ERISA lawsuits, including a class-action brought by temporary employees claiming entitlement to employee benefits based upon alleged misclassification.  Mr. Schultz has represented a prominent museum in fiduciary litigation with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Schultz is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third and Fourth Circuits.
