Patent law developments in the United States Supreme Court in 2014

Continuing its recent trend of taking on patent cases, the United States Supreme Court has weighed in on several major patent-law issues in its latest term. Notably, the high court’s unanimous rulings in four of its most recent patent cases are highly relevant to those involved in patent litigation in the United States. Two of these rulings – CLS Bank and Limelight Networks – go to the heart of how computer-implemented technologies are protected under the US patent system.
