ORANGE COUNTY, April 20, 2018: Ellen Bancroft, managing partner of Morgan Lewis’s Orange County office, was presented with the Marcus M. Kaufman Jurisprudence Award by the Anti-Defamation League (Orange County/Long Beach region). She received the award on April 19 at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach along with co-honorees Rutan & Tucker LLP partner Michael Rubin, and PIMCO’s Managing Director and Global General Counsel David Flattum.
The Jurisprudence Award was named after the late California Supreme Court Justice Marcus M. Kaufman, and is given to lawyers who make outstanding contributions to the legal profession and to the community. Ms. Bancroft was honored for being a “role model in the legal community” and exemplifying ADL’s mission.
Ms. Bancroft has been consistently recognized as one of the leading corporate attorneys in Southern California. Her practice focuses on public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital and private equity financings. She has been included in The Best Lawyers in America for more than 10 years, including being named the Lawyer of the Year for Corporate Law in Orange County in 2011, and a Top Woman Lawyer in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, she was named the “IPO Lawyer of the Year” by Corporate LiveWire, was the recipient of the “Best for Finance Law” award in 2014 by Acquisitions International, and was the recipient of the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business Award in 2012.
Ms. Bancroft is dedicated to giving back to the community and is a long-time supporter of the University of California, Irvine, where she currently is a steering committee member of UCI’s Chief Executive Roundtable and has served on the Dean’s Advisory Committee for the UCI School of Law. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, and was honored in 2016 with the Leadership Award by the Girl Scouts of Orange County.
