Thursday, July 8, 2010

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 8, 2010: Morgan Lewis today announced that Timothy P. Lynch—currently senior vice president and chief lobbyist at the American Trucking Association—will join the firm this month as senior director of its Washington Government Relations and Public Policy Practice. Lynch will leverage his 25 years of management experience in corporate and trade association government affairs to strategically and operationally direct the activities and functions of the practice, which has grown significantly in recent years with the addition of a number of former high-level government officials.

“At a time when legislative and regulatory action by the federal government has become a particularly pressing business concern for corporate America, Tim’s arrival signals our continuing commitment to enhancing the value of services for our clients, as we provide knowledgeable assistance in helping them navigate the legal, legislative, and regulatory system,” said Washington Government Relations and Public Policy Practice leader Fred F. Fielding, who previously served as White House Counsel to Presidents Reagan and George W. Bush, former Deputy Counsel to President Nixon, and Commissioner of the National Commission on Terrorists Attacks Upon the United States (the 9/11 Commission).

The Washington Government Relations and Public Policy Practice at Morgan Lewis is built around alumni from both Republican and Democratic administrations, who focus on helping clients anticipate—and succeed amid—legislative and regulatory change and heightened Congressional oversight. In collaboration with Lynch, the attorneys in the practice will continue to provide advocacy, analysis, and witness preparation for testimony before Congress and government agencies, as well as counseling and strategy on regulatory issues.

“In addition to providing advice and counseling directly to Morgan Lewis clients, Tim will use his extensive knowledge of the political, regulatory, and legislative arenas to enhance our capabilities and contacts,” added Fielding. “We look forward to adding him to our team.”
