Monday, February 2, 2015

NEW YORK, February 2, 2015 – Benchmark Litigation honored Morgan Lewis as the Pennsylvania Law Firm and Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year at a ceremony on January 29 in New York City. Houston-based Litigation partner Winstol D. “Winn” Carter was also recognized by the organization as Regional Litigator of the Year for the South.

As the Pennsylvania Firm of the Year, Morgan Lewis was commended for its litigation successes in a wide range of practice areas. The firm handles litigation and trials of all sizes and complexities in virtually every jurisdiction globally. Morgan Lewis was also the only law firm recognized by Benchmark Litigation in the Pro Bono Firm of the Year category due to the outstanding pro bono contributions of its lawyers throughout 2014.

Mr. Carter, a renowned trial attorney, was honored for his body of work in 2014 which included three successful jury verdicts in major cases – including a much publicized zero liability verdict for International Paper, potentially the largest environmental penalty case in Texas history. He also scored a significant summary judgment victory in a patent inventorship case. As a Regional Litigator of the Year, Mr. Carter was one of only four litigators so honored nationally by Benchmark Litigation. San Francisco Litigation partner Rollin B. Chippey, II was also recognized by the organization as one of six litigators nominated as Regional Litigator of the Year for the West.
