National Law Journal Names Jami McKeon One of 75 Outstanding Women Lawyers

PHILADELPHIA, May 4, 2015: Morgan Lewis Chair Jami McKeon has been named one of 75 Outstanding Women Lawyers by the National Law Journal in a May 2015 special supplement.

Ms. McKeon, who became Chair of Morgan Lewis in October 2014, is lauded for shepherding the addition of 750 lawyers from Bingham McCutchen to the firm in November 2014 and a establishing a partnership with Singapore’s Stamford Law in March 2015. The moves have helped Morgan Lewis become the largest law firm in the United States and one of the largest in the world. The honor comes on the heels of a recent announcement naming Ms. McKeon as a finalist for the Legal Intelligencer’s Attorney of the Year award (the winner will be announced May 20 at a dinner reception in Philadelphia).

As Chair, Ms. McKeon directs the firm’s strategic growth and its steadfast commitment to client service. In her practice, she counsels clients in high-stakes crisis litigation and investigations involving business disputes, fraud, class and mass action cases, including controversies arising from mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures.

Before her election as Chair, Ms. McKeon led the firm’s largest practice—global litigation. She played a central role in many of the firm’s most important developments, including expansion across the United States and into key international markets. Ms. McKeon is known for developing effective, innovative solutions, encouraging the use of cutting-edge technology both within the firm and to serve clients. In keeping with the firm’s commitment to pro bono and community service, she sits on the board of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia and is active in other local and national organizations. She is a longtime advocate for diversity throughout the legal profession.

Ms. McKeon has been on the receiving end of a host of awards and accolades in her years as a global litigator, including recognition by the Philadelphia Business Journal as “Veteran Transformer” in 2015 and the No. 1 spot on the 2014-2015 Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America list. Under her stewardship, the firm has received numerous accolades, including a No. 4 ranking among an elite group of 30 law firms singled out by corporate counsel for client service excellence in the BTI Client Service A-Team 2015 guide.
