PIF partners Georgette Schaefer and Jedd Wider organized a panel presentation entitled "The Anatomy and Challenges of Captive Funds and Separate Accounts in Private Equity and Hedge Funds" at the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys (NAPPA) 2012 Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C. on February 8th and 9th.

Topics discussed included alternatives to commingled vehicles, investment terms including fees and expenses, liquidity, transparency and reporting, managed accounts and captive funds, and the challenges confronting managers of captive funds, managed accounts and commingled funds. Georgette moderated the panel and Jedd spoke on the panel together with Joseph D. Glatt, General Counsel at Apollo Capital Management LP (client), Sherri M. Rossoff, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Rock Creek Group and Nancy E. Shealy, General Counsel at South Carolina Retirement Systems Investment Commission (client). The panel discussion was attended by approximately 100 attorneys from many of the largest and most active public pension plans in the U.S.
