Abtin Amir's practice focuses on lemon-law matters, representing major automotive industry leaders in litigating breach-of-warranty, CLRA, fraud and other related claims at both the trial and appellate level in state and federal court. In doing so, Abtin draws from his long history of automotive repair, modification, and competition to analyze claims and build a strong defense.
As a former Deputy Attorney General for the California Department of Justice, Abtin has independently conducted 7 jury trials to completion in the Superior Courts of Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo Counties, and orally argued over a dozen cases before the California Court of Appeal in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. He has drafted over 60 appellate briefs in the California Court of Appeal and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, as well as petitioning for writs in the Appellate Division of the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Abtin has thus far obtained two published appellate opinions with favorable rulings.
Abtin has also successfully represented clients in administrative hearings, including before a panel of the United States Copyright Office, and a panel of the Los Angeles County Tax Assessor's Board of Appeals.
