Aaron C. Christian counsels clients and maintains a broad civil litigation practice in US federal and state courts, including complex commercial, environmental, energy, banking, and financial services litigation. In addition, Aaron has experience in all phases of pretrial practice, including drafting motions and preparing legal analysis, and negotiates out-of-court settlements on behalf of his clients. He also advises banks and financial services companies on compliance matters and conducts internal corporate investigations.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Aaron served as a law clerk for Judge Reed O'Connor of the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division. Before attending law school, he served as a legislative aide for the US Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees, and Border Security, where he provided legislative analysis and other assistance to subcommittee staff and to the then-chairman of the Subcommittee, US Senator John Cornyn of Texas. Aaron served on Senator Cornyn’s staff for more than two years before joining the Subcommittee staff.
Representing an international oilfield services company in the multidistrict litigation in federal district court involving the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, including all phases of pretrial practice.
Representing an oilfield supply company in breach of contract actions in federal and state courts, including drafting motions and preparing legal analysis.
Representing out of state insurer in breach of contract action in federal court, including oversight and drafting of all motion practice.
Advising clients on compliance matters related to the banking and financial services industry and conducting internal corporate investigations.
Securing favorable settlement for an indigent client in a section 1983 excessive force claim in federal court in Texas.
