Alexandra M. Lastowski is part of a team of lawyers that advises clients in white collar litigation and government investigations, criminal defense, and complex commercial litigation. Alex’s white collar work focuses on defense of clients in qui tam lawsuits and investigations arising under the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other provisions of federal and state law.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Alex was a law clerk to Judge Joel H. Slomsky of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
While in law school, Alex served as a lead research editor of the Temple Law Review and was a member of Temple’s Moot Court Honor Society.
Defended a pharmaceutical company in litigation involving alleged violations of the False Claims Act concerning representations about a vaccine made to the FDA and CDC brought in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Defended a national wholesale pharmaceuticals distributor in parallel criminal and civil investigation and prosecution involving alleged violations of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and False Claims Act concerning a compounding pharmacy operation.
Defended a federal criminal investigation of a national insurance company and successfully obtained declination of all criminal charges.
Defended a pharmaceutical manufacturer in a litigation involving alleged payment of physician kickbacks brought in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Defended a health insurer against claims of tortious interference with contract brought in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
