Alfred A. D’Andrea focuses his practice on technical and legal analyses in patent litigation in the courts as well as before the US International Trade Commission and US Food and Drug Administration. Al advises on litigating patents; preparing infringement, validity, and varied intellectual property opinions and analyses; and writing and prosecuting patent applications in various technologies.
The technologies Alfred works with for patent applications include: chemical and biological materials (such as pharmaceutical and retrovirus compositions, metallurgical systems and materials, semiconductor structures and materials, cosmetics, and genetic materials); medical devices (such as robotics, implant methods, and surgical materials); optics; and electronics (such as cellular technology, processors and microprocessors, liquid crystal displays, electronic cameras, and other electronic devices).
Prior to practicing law, Al worked as a chemical patent examiner and served as law clerk to Hon. Joseph V. Colaianni in the US Court of Claims, where he wrote draft opinions on patent infringement lawsuits against the United States.
