Annette Liu represents individuals and organizations in complex commercial litigation, white collar litigation and government investigations. She concentrates her practice on counselling and representing clients in white collar criminal proceedings including corruption, money laundering and market manipulation. She also acts for clients in shareholder disputes, complex and high value contractual and tortious claims, insolvency claims and securities and regulatory enforcement. She is part of the “bench of strong young lawyers” in the Morgan Lewis litigation team recognised by Legal 500: Asia Pacific 2018.
Annette strives to provide clients with effective and structured advice in resolving their disputes. She specializes in matters relating to commercial crime and securities investigations, having defended clients in both criminal and regulatory prosecutions. As a litigator, she acts for directors, professionals and consultants in professional negligence suits and tortious claims. She also advises clients on insolvency regimes with a litigation angle and the protection of claims against insolvent companies and individuals.
Annette regularly counsels clients on the protection of their intellectual property rights and is well-versed with the enforcement options and strategies in respect of infringement on new media platforms. In this vein, she also has experience in acting in defamation and harassment claims.
Annette has an active pro bono practice and has acted as defence counsel for criminal matters under the Community Legal Aid Scheme. She has also counselled welfare organizations on a variety of matters ranging from contractual disputes to defamation.
