Ann Marie Effingham defends and counsels employers on a wide range of employment-related issues, including the defense of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful discharge claims. She represents employers in single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, and complex collective and class action litigation before state and federal courts. Ann Marie also conducts internal investigations into complaints of alleged workplace misconduct and advises employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ann Marie gained experience as an associate in the New Jersey office of a national firm. While there, she focused on employment litigation and represented employers, particularly healthcare institutions, in employment matters before state and federal courts. She also served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Garry S. Rothstadt of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. As a member of the Employment Law Clinic at Seton Hall, Ann Marie represented pro se litigants in federal employment discrimination cases in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
