Bradford A. Cangro guides clients through patent litigation and patent procurement in the electrical and mechanical arts, working with public and private companies in sectors that include software and hardware, wireless telecommunications, medical devices, and semiconductor manufacturing. He files and prosecutes patent applications before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and counsels clients on patent prosecution strategy. Brad represents clients in US federal and state courts, and in Section 337 proceedings before the US International Trade Commission (USITC).
Brad represents patent owners and defendants in all stages of litigation, from presuit investigation to trial, and before district courts throughout the United States, including the patent litigation hotbeds in the US District Courts for the Eastern District of Texas, the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Northern District of California. In addition to his patent practice, he litigates trade secret disputes in state court.
Brad maintains an active pro bono practice, representing indigent clients in US Immigration Court and on Social Security disability cases. He also volunteers regularly at the District of Columbia (DC) Bar’s Tax Sale Resource Center.
Prior to Brad’s legal career, he earned a B.S. in electrical engineering and served as a junior engineer for the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), where he worked on communications networks.
