Jessica Bernanke is the director of business development and marketing for Morgan Lewis’s employee benefits and executive compensation practice. She works closes with practice group leadership to support business goals and strategic initiatives. Jessica is responsible for responding to requests for proposals, assisting pitches, developing practice marketing materials, managing the ML BeneBits blog, coordinating webinars and conferences, and handling other aspects of client outreach and business development.
Prior to her current role at Morgan Lewis, Jessica was an associate in the firm’s employee benefits and executive compensation practice. She advised clients on ERISA, COBRA, the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA/HITECH and other laws and regulations that govern health and welfare plans. She also assisted health and welfare plans to prepare and amend plan documents and participant communications, negotiate service agreements, conduct HIPAA training, and establish wellness programs and on-site clinics. In addition, Jessica has litigation experience, including litigating ERISA disputes, and commercial and product liability matters, as well as labor arbitrations. Before joining Morgan Lewis, Jessica worked with a boutique law firm in New York City and served as a law clerk to Honorable Thomas C. Platt, US District Court, Eastern District of New York.
