In the healthcare arena, as deputy leader of the Morgan Lewis’s healthcare practice and co-leader of the firm’s insurance practice, Brian is a nationally recognized attorney representing primarily payors in many complex matters ranging from consumer class actions and government enforcement actions to complex commercial disputes.
Brian also has broad experience representing major financial institutions ranging from retail banks, lenders, servicers, brokerages, hedge funds, private equity funds, and investment advisers in a broad array of commercial and class action litigation, as well as government enforcement actions brought by the Los Angeles City Attorney and the Attorney General on behalf of the People of the State of California.
Brian also represents a broad variety of companies across industries in all types of commercial disputes involving, among other things, allegations of breach of contract, bad faith, fraud, and unfair business practices, to matters related to the Truth in Lending Act, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, California Unfair Competition Law, California Consumer Legal Remedies Act, Class Action Fairness Act of 2005, and individual state privacy laws, and has secured important victories in multiple jurisdictions, including significant trial and arbitration victories and dismissals of class actions and government enforcement actions.
